Weddings are always a joyful occasion

Weddings are always a joyful occasion. My brother is getting married tomorrow and I am in high spirits with his soon to be new wife. He has been married twice and seems to have found his sole mate with this one. I want to wish him and my new sister-in-law a happy and prosperous new life together.

I look forward to a very happy weekend amongst all the tragedy that comes to us during a recession.

Arizona Boating, Boat Safe, Boat Smart, Boat Sober

This past Memorial Day, my husband, daughter and I went out on our boat as usual to our local lake. This lake is over 60,000 square miles and we have often observed
people Boating Operating Under the Influence and are very concerned for them. You can have a serious accident with your boat the same as you can with your car.

Arizona Boating authorities do not require you take a test to drive a boat. In our state you have no choice. You have to take a test and pass in order to be able to drive a boat. You have an option to take the test either Boating Education Online or in person. Do not take this freedom lightly or legislature may decide to take it away.

I have included several videos and the Arizona Boating Safety Report for your convenience. Please take heed this is serious and could harm you. Make sure you have a designated driver as you would with your car.

Memorial Day Vacation

I just returned from my memorial day vacation. I took some extra time off to be able to benefit from a Monday Holiday.

And I believe everyone else did the same thing. I hope everyone's holiday was uneventful and as enjoyable as mine.

Remember when you start hating to go to work it is time to take a break. I was at that point and felt as if I had been fried in the business world. I could not think any longer and felt as if going to work was a burden. Sometimes you just have to take the time to step back and clear your mind.

Often Other People are Ignored when Disaster Strikes

Banner1

I talk about my daughter and our experience with Multiple Sclerosis and how it affects our lives. I have a tendency to forget there are other people in my life that need my support also.

My husband has been very supportive toward me and dealing with this disease. My life was totally topsy turvy when she was diagnosed. Having to deal with working, cleaning house and cooking has taken its toll on my family. Father's Day is just around the corner and I believe I know what to do now to try and make my husband realize just how special he is.

Charter has a contest going on at this time for Father's Day in HD. Grand Prize is one lucky dad will receive a 65" LCD HDTV Flat Panel 1080p and The Charter Bundle + HD all FREE for one year! They even have four finalists that will receive The Charter Bundle + HD–FREE for one year.

I believe my telling Charter his story will have a tremendous impact and could possibly win him the TV of his dreams. I know I can never bring back the days lost with him when I have been so busy, but maybe this will help to let him know that I do love him and I want him to know that through it all he has always been on my mind.

Stem Cell Therapy and MS

Treatments vary amoung Multiple Sclerosis patients. I can range from Medication to psychotherapy to combat depression. My daughter has a multitude of symptoms including muscle weakness, slurred words, vision problems and fatigue.

Another treatment I read about for Multiple Sclerosis is stem cell therapy. Most patients notice an improvement after around seven weeks of treatment. You use your own bone marrow for this procedure.

This is something I am going to look into. Seems that stem cell therapy with your own bone marrow has a better chance of success. Using your own body's DNA will have less chance of rejection or increased chance of success.

My Community on the Internet Social Spark

As you know my blog started out as a way to express myself. This has helped tremendously in my quest to relieve everyday stress. In the past few months I have converted this blog into a dedicated site for my daughter who has multiple sclerosis.

It is hard to talk about this as a matter of fact I would not even acknowledge it to anyone for the longest time. Now that I have accepted it I have researched MS for hours on end. It has made me feel better to know the enemy. I may seem out of tune sometimes when posting but I have so much to say sometimes it just comes tumbling out.

Since taking a course in marketing which introduced me to blogging, I have ran into several social areas. The most important one SocialSpark has just opened for business. Although this is a new website, I have been around this group for seven months with their other websites. I have met online some of the kindest and most understanding people on the web. Although it is young this community has taught me there are still people who care and support you no matter what you believe in or what causes you to want to write about on the internet. There is a very diverse amount of bloggers and this community at Social Spark has them all. I have made online friends and have met another young person with Multiple Sclerosis. I read a ton of information on this person's website. If it had not been for Social Spark I would not have met this person.

Social Spark's ethics are a step above the rest they have:

-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly

Their website is easy to negotiate and user friendly. SocialSpark no other community holds a candle to you.

Can a Jacuzzi help with Multiple Sclerosis?

One of the many treatments for Multiple Sclerosis is by water. My daughter was surprised this weekend with a jacuzzi. Her husband built her a new screen enclosed porch with her new jacuzzi. She immediately used it and said she felt like she could dance again. I was extremely please with the result. Even though she is in remission at this time, this will help her get her muscles toned and maybe eventually get rid of her cane.

Nascar has a New Sponsor

When stress gets to a point where you have to take mini-vacations I look for fun that will keep my mind free of any reminder of my daily problems. One of my favorite past times is Nascar. Believe it or not, my favorite is Kasey Kahne. He recently switched sponsors to Budweiser and seems to be doing very well this year. I look forward to watching Nascar races even if I cannot attend. I read a press release for a new sponsor for the races at Chicago Speedway. Lifelock, as you have seen on TV a number of times is going to be the Title Sponsor. As you know lifelock is the industry leader in identity theft protection and has been nominated for best service in the 12th annual Webby Awards.

They are looking for some good people to work for them, so suit up and go big with the next hot industry leader.

MS: Using Prozac had fewer new inflamations

I read in a study of Multiple Sclerosis that Prozac may help keep the activity of MS at bay.

The case revealed in the study the patients using Prozac had fewer new inflamations than the ones treated with a placebo.

This is a significant new approach to MS and the doctors have determined this study will enable a larger study for the FDA to approve using Prozac for Multiple Sclerosis patients.

But it takes so long for the FDA to approve anything, I doubt it will help my daughter.

May 15th Bloggers Unite for Human Rights

I have always supported a great cause, this year bloggers unite for Human Rights. Being in the South I have seen a tremendous amount of degredation. I would support this cause but feel there are a ton of other causes that lack the attention the should get. Trying to find a certain cause is just to tremendous to take on. Therefore I am listing a groups of causes I would like to be heard. I hope all bloggers unite on this day and let our voices be heard.

Here Is Hoping for Sydney Australia Break This Year

My husband and I took a mini vacation this past weekend just to get out of the house. We went to an old historic town called Gadsden. We lucked up because they had their first annual Crawfish Broil on Saturday. Not only did we get to see a very historical city but was able to sit out by the River and eat all we could eat. This was one of many Weekend Breaks we take every year. We scurry around and find new places to go to on these mini vacations about every other weekend.

Now our real vacations are a week long. Every year we dream about going to Australia but never seem to be able to get it together enough to get a ticket and go. Hopefully we can use this company Dialaflight.com and make that special trip to Sydney this year. Now that would really make my year.

My Mother's Day

My daughter called me to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. She was having a good day and I asked her how her mother's day went. She said she is doing extremely well at this time. We hope the MS is in remission and will not show it's ugly face for a while.

Renuzit Tri-Scents Semi-Finalist Vote For Your Favorite

This family is a semi-finalists in the Tri-Scents $20,000 Transform your home contest. I voted for them because they have a ton of children and getting them all on video was a challenge in itself. The video was very well laid out and had a very well thought out plot. This family deserves to win this as they were all involved.

There are four girls and one boy and the Mom and Dad. The mom has bought several Renuzit Tri-Scents and everyone is running around trying to find places to put them. The girls are having some hard times with some of the smells they run across. The young boy has a great time letting everyone come into his room and put their fingers over their noses. This is a great opportunity for someone to get a complete makeover and you have ten videos to choose from and all of them are funny.

Everyone needs to go to semi-finalist gallery and vote for this family they need the makeover just to make room for all the kids they have. I have not seen this many kids in a family since my mother had five kids. Give these kids the break they are looking for. You will see their smiling faces as winners if they get enough votes. Come on bloggers get to it make it the best for these kids.

visit http://www.triscents.com/gallery.asp and vote for your favorite submission with up to one vote per day through June 7.

Tornado Season

We just went through another bad episode of extremely bad weather. This is a normal circumstance in the south and we are getting used to it again. I hope we do not get too used to it as this causes people to get careless.

Set a "Spark" at Social Spark

One of my earlier posts was about Delusional Angel. I met her at the new SocialSpark. I met her from a "Spark" as we call it. I wanted to get the word out about Multiple Sclerosis, and met her online as one of it's victims. She wrote a small article and included me in it to try and set a "Spark" for Multiple Sclerosis.

This community of bloggers are the best in the business and advertisers know it. I have yet to find another opportunity as well programmed and run as this community. There had to be a ton of trial and error in this to make it work so well. It is very user friendly and I have enjoyed working for the owners Izea and Pay Per Post.

There are a few "bugs" but the only one I have truly noticed is trying to put a comment in with IE. I am not certain if they have worked on this yet, but for such a small problem I do not believe this to be a major issue.

I have met a ton of great people on this site and never thought I would have so many people offering to be my online friend. I am a very shy person and do not get to know people very well, but I feel as if this site and the owners give this the most personable site I have ever run across.

One other person I would like to mention is and advertiser/blogger Dan Rue. He was the one that got me started with the spark for Multiple Sclerosis. Thanks Dan and good luck with Tyler's Hope.

Maybe someday this will make sense

My daughters MS has taught her excercise is the most important part of her routine. Just getting out of the house and walking is a tremendous effort for her. She is on medication. She decided to take medication because it takes so long to diagnose MS the symptoms she has had become severe. She is walking with a cane. You have to understand that her prior dancing had a lot to do with her legs. Once she had strong beautiful legs and because this was the toughest part of her body for some reason the MS attacked there first.

I am just learning and typing. Maybe someday this will make sense.

Sleeping through the night is something I look forward too

The older I get the harder it is to sleep. My brain continues to be active all night long and I actually have to think about a brick wall or a valley of flowers to sooth myself to sleep. Recently I have been taking a mild sleeping pill but I still wake up in the middle of the night. I had come to the conclusion that I was no longer going to sleep at night except for a few hours until I heard about the White Noise Generator.

This may not be knew to some people but it is to me. This little box creates soothing sounds like Rainfall, Ocean Waves, Summer Night, Waterfall and many more. I have noticed if I leave the television on I can go to sleep better but it wakes me up in the middle of the night with these loud commercials. This box called the The ObusForme® Sound Therapy Relaxation System is something I am going to look into and see if I can finally get a good nights sleep. Sleeping through the night is something I look forward too.

Thank you Delusional Angel

This is a special post to a young woman that I have connected with that has MS also. She was kind enough to mention my website on hers and how I reminded her of her mom when they found out she has MS.

Delusional Angel you have helped my sole thank you.

Epstein-Barr and MS

This is very interesting that the American Medical Association can actually link Mononucleosis to Multiple Sclerosis. There are several diseases that can be linked to problems that are caused later in life.

In 2003, a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association suggested that increased levels of immune antibodies that fight Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)—the very common virus that causes infectious mononucleosis and other disorders—may be associated with an increased risk of developing MS. Although no causal relationship was established between EBV and multiple sclerosis, the researchers found that in spite of the fact that virtually all of the study participants, with and without MS, had early exposure to this virus, the antibodies to EBV were consistently higher in those individuals who subsequently developed MS than in the control group that did not develop MS. Furthermore, the risk of developing MS increased with increasing levels of antibodies, which were subsequently found to increase with age.

In 2006, investigators reported that individuals who showed signs of significant exposure to the Epstein-Barr virus were twice as likely to develop MS up to 20 years later. While this study, funded in part by a pilot research grant from the National MS Society, added more evidence linking the virus to the risk of developing MS, it still did not prove that EBV actually causes MS.

In 2007, investigators reported finding traces of Epstein-Barr virus in postmortem brains examined from people with different forms of MS. They found traces of EBV infection in immune cells (B cells and plasma cells) that had infiltrated 21 out of 22 brains from people with MS, but not in brains from people who had other neurological diseases that, like MS, involve inflammation. If these exciting findings are confirmed by other laboratories, they will add to growing evidence of a link between EBV and MS.

In spite of these findings, however, it is still not possible to determine whether EBV causes MS, or whether its presence is a consequence of MS.

Mother's Day will be here soon!

I am so excited about Mother's Day this year. My mother will be 72 years old and I look forward to having her with me for a long time. We are planning on a picnic at the park with the food being catered and sitting out by the lake in a Pavillion. I have visited 1800flowers.com for my Mother's Day gift and their flowers for mothers are so beautiful. They have several gift ideas if you prefer. I hope that I get something of this nature also.

It will be a wonderful year for us all my children will be with us including my daughter that has Multiple Sclerosis. She will be the most important part this year to me and my mother.
