Cooking at its best!

Campbells is a well know soup and the cooking recipes I have come up with are now appearing on their website. Really cannot ask for royalties since it is their soup I have used.

It is funny though how a recipe can travel around the world. I think next time I will keep it to myself but I love posting new recipes on my cooking blog.

Suspect confessed according to affidavits

According to arrest affidavits read Monday, March 10, 2008, in Lee County Circuit Court, suspect Courtney Larrell Lockhart confessed to police in the case of Auburn student Lauren Burk's death, which led to the capital murder charges filed against him on Saturday, March 8.

Auburn University has announced it will continue to have an increased police presence on campus and is constantly taking measures to provide a safe campus environment. "We are always reviewing our security measures and will use this tragedy to enhance our security efforts," said Major Melvin Owens, Executive Director of AU Security and Public Safety. "We have increased the number of police patrols, have added hours to the campus transit system and are providing security escorts from the library at night to the library parking deck and the Comer Hall parking lot."

He adds that Auburn University has surveillance cameras in key locations throughout campus and is expanding this to a significantly sized and fully integrated closed-circuit surveillance system, something started last fall due to the rapid growth on campus.

I often wonder why it takes a tragedy to increase security around a college campus. My daughter is there people get it together!

Auburn Student Shot

Our prayers and condolences go out to the Burk family for their loss.

What has this world come to? This is extremely close to me, I have a daughter at Auburn University and it is scary for her and for our family. This young woman Lauren Burk was found shot on the side of Highway 147 in Auburn Alabama. She later died at the hospital. Her car was found on Campus close to the Dorm she lived in on fire.

This woman was popular in her high school and well loved by all. Why are these things happening? There was an earlier incident in 2006 of a woman strangled in Birmingham on the University of Alabama Birmingham Campus and placed in the trunk of her car. The man that murdered her was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole. I think the both women would have chose that also if they had been given the chance.
